THE BOOK OF GENESIS
Then the Lord shut him in. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Ham was the father of Canaan. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked. The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.
May Canaan be the slave of Shem. Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah. Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites and the Rodanites. Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan. Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek. One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.
All these were sons of Joktan. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. Two years after the flood, when Shem was years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.
Terah became the father of Abram , Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot. But when they came to Harran, they settled there. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And he gave him tithes of all. I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her.
And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. And he said, Behold, in the tent. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. Oh, let me escape thither, is it not a little one? Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there. I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. And he said, Speak on. And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: And she said, I will go.
And the servant had said, It is my master: And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. All these were the children of Keturah. And she went to enquire of the LORD. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. And he said, I am. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. And they said, Of Haran are we. And they said, We know him. Today, astronomers estimate that there are ten thousand billion trillion stars - a 1 followed by 25 zeros! Yet, as the Bible states, scientists admit this number may be woefully inadequate. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: The number of stars, though vast, are finite. Although man is unable to calculate the exact number of stars, we now know their number is finite.
Of course God knew this all along. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: The Bible compares the number of stars with the number of grains of sand on the seashore.

Amazingly, gross estimates of the number of sand grains are comparable to the estimated number of stars in the universe. That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
The universe is expanding. Repeatedly God declares that He stretches out the heavens. During the early 20th century, most scientists including Einstein believed the universe was static. Others believed it should have collapsed due to gravity. Then in , astronomer Edwin Hubble showed that distant galaxies were receding from the earth, and the further away they were, the faster they were moving. This discovery revolutionized the field of astronomy. Eisntein admitted his mistake, and today most astronomers agree with what the Creator told us millennia ago - the universe is expanding!
Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Each star is unique. Centuries before the advent of the telescope, the Bible declared what only God and the angels knew: There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: The sun goes in a circuit.
Some scientists scoffed at this verse thinking that it taught geocentricity - the theory that the sun revolves around the earth. They insisted the sun was stationary. However, we now know that the sun is traveling through space at approximately , miles per hour. It is literally moving through space in a huge circuit - just as the Bible stated 3, years ago! Creation is made of atoms and particles, indiscernible to our eyes. Not until the 19th century was it discovered that all visible matter consists of invisible elements.
THE BOOK OF GENESIS
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Light can be divided. Sir Isaac Newton studied light and discovered that white light is made of seven colors, which can be "parted" and then recombined.
Science confirmed this four centuries ago - God declared it four millennia ago! By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? Light travels in a path. Light is said to have a "way" [Hebrew: Until the 17th century it was believed that light was transmitted instantaneously. We now know that light is a form of energy that travels at , miles per second in a straight line. Indeed, there is a "way" of light.
See a Problem?
Where is the way where light dwelleth? The Bible says that light can be sent, and then manifest itself in speech. We now know that radio waves and light waves are two forms of the same thing: Therefore, radio waves are a form of light. Today, using radio transmitters, we can send "lightnings" which indeed speak when they arrive. Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are? The First Law of Thermodynamics established. The First Law states that the total quantity of energy and matter in the universe is a constant.
One form of energy or matter may be converted into another, but the total quantity always remains the same. Therefore the creation is finished, exactly as God said way back in Genesis. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. The Second Law of Thermodynamics Entropy. This law states that everything in the universe is running down, deteriorating, and constantly becoming less and less orderly.
Entropy disorder entered when mankind rebelled against God - resulting in the curse Genesis 3: Historically most people believed the universe was unchangeable. Yet modern science verifies that the universe is growing "old as doth a garment'' Hebrews 1: Evolution directly contradicts this, the most tested of all scientific laws. Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Law of Biogenesis explained. Scientists observe that life only comes from existing life. This law has never been violated under observation or experimentation as evolution requires. Therefore, life, God's life, created all life. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
The earth was designed for biological life. Scientists have discovered that the most fundamental characteristics of our earth and cosmos are so finely tuned that if just one of them were even slightly different, life as we know it couldn't exist. This is called the Anthropic Principle and it agrees with the Bible which states that God formed the earth to be inhabited. For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
God has given us just the right amount of water to sustain life. We now recognize that if there was significantly more or less water, the earth would not support life as we know it. Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Our bodies are made from the dust of the ground.
Scientists have discovered that the human body is comprised of some 28 base and trace elements - all of which are found in the earth. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: Life begins at fertilization. God declares that He knew us before we were born. The Biblical penalty for murdering an unborn child was death Exodus Today, it is an irrefutable biological fact that the fertilized egg is truly an entire human being. Nothing will be added to the first cell except nutrition and oxygen.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. God fashions and knits us together in the womb. Science was ignorant concerning embryonic development until recently. Yet thousands of years ago, the Bible accurately described God making us an intricate unity' in the womb.
Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again? Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews. Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. The seed of a plant contains its life. As stated in the Book of Genesis, we now recognize that inside the humble seed is life itself. Within the seed is a tiny factory of amazing complexity. No scientist can build a synthetic seed and no seed is simple!
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: A seed must die to produce new life. The fallen seed is surrounded by supporting cells from the old body. These supporting cells "give their lives" to provide nourishment to the inner kernel. Once planted, this inner kernel germinates resulting in much grain.
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. For example, the first rule of the scientific method is to establish the initial conditions, or the frame of reference. Most people have made the mistake of assuming the frame of reference of Genesis 1 is heaven or somewhere above the earth. What does the text specifically say? The heavens universe, solar system, sun, earth, etc. Science tells us that the entire planet was covered in a global sea soon after its creation 3. In other verses, the Bible says that the earth is controlled by the heavens, refuting geocentrism 4.
We know from science this is where the first unicellular life forms first appeared 6. The Hebrew word, rachaph, translated as "hovering or brooding" is used only twice in the Old Testament. The second reference is to an eagle caring for its young 7. Therefore, it seems likely that the use of the word rachaph in Genesis 1: And there was evening and there was morning, one day. Both science and the Bible 8 have told us that at the earth's creation, it was covered with a dense layer of clouds and gases which would have made it dark at its surface.
It is very clear from the text that the sun had already been created and the earth was rotating on its axis, since there was light day and darkness night Genesis 1: And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
