Upon Micha's Mate leaving him, Micah finds himself not wanting to live any longer. The bond is broken and so is his heart. He approaches the Dreck - wants to leave this world inflicted by pain. She certainly breathes fresh air back into Micha's life. They are two souls that both need saving. But at what cost - upon Sam saving Micha's life she now has enemies of another kind. Is Micah able to keep his emotions at bay to keep her alive and protect her? I read the first four chapters for free via goodreads and was certainly intrigued to read more.. Donya has written a storyline that will keep the readers interest piqued throughout.
Changes to the vampire traits we normally see, and a storyline that is unique. You must read to find out snickers - Im very curious as to Trace's part in this - we have been given a slight hint into Trace and I can see some excitement dwelling within this for other books to follow. This scene is not for everyone - but keep in mind its very mild and exciting all the same. If you after something with heat then this read is for you. Micha and Sam are certainly a match made between the sheets, hot smoking scenes that will not only leave you wanting more but panting past the pages that have been turned.
Your reader will be in a frenzy! This story has a well-balanced amount of everything - from hot sex,to passion that will singe your eyelashes ,love, new found friendships, action, paranormal elements and even a giggle thrown in for good measure. They say every dog has his day and that doctor certainly doesnt see it coming.. At only pages long, Rise of the Fallen is a quick read but certainly filled with all the goodies any parnanormal reader will enjoy. Many a scenes envisaged will have your panties bunching and mind a wandering New characters have been introduced throughout making room for more in further books to come.
I must say that Trace has me intrigued Friendships are found - and I can see Micha and Trace builidng a strong friendship in stories to come. All the Kings Men are alluring , sexy and certainly a puzzle. Each and every one having there own personal stories to tell and Im sure Donya Lynne will keep us on our toes - tanatlizing us in book Vampire romance lovers with a hint of BDSM.
I have to say that as soon as I started reading I was pulled directly into the world of Micah Black. Though I did not know who he was at first I knew that this was going to be someone I could like based on how dark and tortured he appeared because you know that he feels deep. The plot of this book is very straight forward and keeps moving at a good pace which allows you to follow the action without getting bogged down.
There are no slow spots of weird changes to deal with, no shifts in time or t I have to say that as soon as I started reading I was pulled directly into the world of Micah Black. There are no slow spots of weird changes to deal with, no shifts in time or tense to keep track of, you know what is going on every step of the way. When you consider that most of the main characters are vampires, you can still relate to them and what they are dealing with as people. I could imagine knowing someone like Trace, a nice guy who is quiet and keeps to himself but is looking to make a friend of the guy everyone else avoids.
I know sometimes the dialogue in these books can seem kind of stilted or forced, but that is not the case here. The dialogue seems to be very true to who each of the characters are, keeping in mind that some of them are quite old.

Micah has fallen into a dark place because of the lose of his mate and is looking for a way to continue living as he is or to die. Samantha Garrett is working as a stripper after leaving her abusive husband and simply wants to make enough money to get a new identity so she can feel free. They have nothing in common but when they cross paths it is salvation them both. My favorite quote from Micah, "If they made a move on Sam, he'd fuck up their world so righteously the galaxy would shift from the gravitational pull of his wrath.
Who wouldn't want a man to feel like that about them. You see these traits in all the characters, they are a group I cannot wait to find out more about! In this first of the series we get to meet Micah but in subsequent novels we will get more on the other enforcers at AKM. Each should be just as exciting and hot as this one. I will be reading them as fast as I can get them. There is some talk of BDSM but it is fairly mild though some of the scenes are good and hot even without it.
The narrator, Mikela Drew, does a fantastic job of bring this story to life. While the second book is available, and I plan to listen to it also, I can only hope that they soon bring the rest of the series to audio too. Apr 01, Michelle Leah Olson rated it really liked it Shelves: Generally I don't like to do the comparison thing, but I feel like I sort of have to here so people get a bit of a feel of what they'll be jumping into. All the Kings Men is a group of warriors trained to fight rogue shapeshifters and other problematic preternaturals.
Micah is one of the strongest on the team, but he's had a rough run with his mates and is in a VERY bad place as the story begins. He's a complex, tortured, bad boy and if you like alpha males, you can't help but love him and feel for the guy. She holds her own, looks out for others, is sexy, savvy and smart.

Her and Micah together are absolute dynamite! The sexual chemistry of these two literally jumps off of the page and you can't help but re-read sections because they are really The supporting cast was phenomenal as well. I personally cannot wait to find out more about Trace, the myserious self appointed guardian of Micah and best friend of the couple. There is so much more than meets the eye with him and I am so excited to find out what's up.
The bad guys in this tale were nasty. Diabolical in their scheming, ruthless in their pursuit, and utterly enjoyable to read. If you haven't gotten the hint, I loved the book. I thought it was fantastic. My one problem was the ending because I am not a fan of the cliff-hanger and Donya was a dirty tease at the end of this book. The bonus is that I don't have to wait long for book 2 to find out what the heck happens. Definitely a great new find and I want to thank Jowanna at Pimpin' Reads for telling me I had to read it! Dec 30, Sheri rated it it was amazing Shelves: An empty shell clinging to life, yet he is begging for death.
When vampires mate, there is no Judge Judy or Divorce court. It cleaves your soul in half, tears you to pieces if your mate is lost. Micah barely held on after the death of his wife, and centuries later he thought he was blessed with a second chance; Jackson.
A mere matter of days after his bonding with Jack, he left him Broken hearts. A mere matter of days after his bonding with Jack, he left him too. Begging for pain, pleading for death; Micah is on a quest for peace. He is desperate for someone to stop the pain and end his suffering. Sam, his halo wearing bad ass, was a woman on the run. Hiding from her abusive husband, she started a new life. After rescuing the lost and suicidal vampire, her life is flipped upside down. It will tug on your heart one moment and then have you sweating in your seat the next.
I almost fell out of my chair! Alpha male meet your Alpha female. Anxiously awaiting the next one. I will never get tired of Vampires. I love how authors will write about the old known legends of Vampires and add twists and turns to them. Sometimes they give them more powers, less powers, more human qualities, less human qualities Yes, you heard me right I loved this book!

From the first page, Donya Lynne sucked me into the world of Micah Black hello yum and his supernatural lifestyl I will never get tired of Vampires. From the first page, Donya Lynne sucked me into the world of Micah Black hello yum and his supernatural lifestyle. The characters are so well developed, the plot is intense and the story never stops moving. I picked this book up and could not put it down. As you may or may not know about me, I tend to cheer for the bad guys. Call it a character flaw if you might but I am always so interested in why the bad guys are the bad guys and what makes them tick.
The drecks have a human glamour and are not the typical fine as can be bad boys but they are still really cool characters! Aug 04, Dena rated it really liked it Shelves: So Micah is a damaged vampire who lost his mate in the early part of his vampirism. He finally found someone to replace her in Jackson however Jackson was just to self-absorbed to be anyone's mate so Micah lost him too. As he is in the deppest part of depression he finds enemies to have him killed until a pretty woman rescues him Sam.
That is the foundation of this story. I thought it sounded very intriguing because we usually see the woman being depressed and trying to do something stupid. However even though Sam is damaged by her abusive husband she doesn't let it slow her down. As the 2 characters navigate their attraction they see how well they really are together and I liked to think that maybe it was because of the emotional issues that they have that they ccan relate to each other.
The story has side plots like the drecks enemies of the vampires and abusive husbands and also other team members who are hiding their attraction due to male on male action. I just tried another vampire series and it completely bored me so my judgement might be a little biased because of it. In the beginning of the book, Micah was so heartbroken over his "kinda mate" and was like in my finest Scarlet O'Hara voice "Woe is me. I cannot live without my half mate, who didn't want me".winatmoney.com/zithromax-azitromicina-precio-online-pedido-por-correo.php

And then, quicker than you can say "hey look, there's another chick over there", he is in love so deep!! It all came a little too fast for me. But, like I Pretty ok read. But, like I said, I'd just got through trying to read a series I that bored me. Other semi negatives-- I don't think I read the reviews or description about this book, however, I was not prepared for the underlying BDSM in this book. It wasn't anything heavy, so if you are new to the genre, it is not too shocking unlike my introduction in BDSM or someone who doesn't have delicate sensibilities.
Well, I have to say I was drawn in by the writing. The conversations seemed over the top cheesy. Him "You're a runner or a swimmer aren't you? How can you tell? There is nothing else that goes with this except she's running a knife down his chest while sitting on his prone body at his hip naked. So what's up with this conversation? Several others are like this.
It's extremely descriptive, but it seems random conversations pop up in the middle of actions that aren't congruent or are not explained further. It could be me. It's hard to read much after reading a Kristen Ashley book though, so maybe I am being too harsh. I really like this book I don't read many hetero book nowadays but what can I say. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a lot of BDSM kink in this book but I am hoping that the series will greatly improve with each new book that I read. I love how the author is introducin Finished this book yesterday but GR was tripping and I could not do my review of the book but all is good now.
I love how the author is introducing all the different characters in this first book, It is to wet your appetite, for what is to come. Books in this series, in reading order: While this book and the majority of the series revolves around heterosexual relationships, there will be homosexual relationships explored in this book and this series. The author believes that love is love, and that love comes in all flavors and orientations, especially in the world of vampires. If this isn't your belief or your cup of tea, no harm no foul, but this isn't the series for you. I would rather you not buy the books than risk getting a bad review because you didn't like this particular flavor of sauce.
But maybe you can try one of my other series, such as Strong Karma or Banger, which are exclusively heterosexual. Read more Read less. Books In This Series 9 Books. Page 1 of 1 Start Over Page 1 of 1. Kindle Cloud Reader Read instantly in your browser. Customers who bought this item also bought.
